The Missionary Baptist Church of Huntsville, Arkansas was organized on October 17, 1891. Brothers and sisters subscribed $100 for the year to be paid to the treasurer on a monthly basis as dues.

The Southern Baptist Convention was first mentioned in 1919 when the church began taking part in the $75 million campaign promoted by the Southern Baptist Convention..

A mission was started in Kingston, Arkansas in June 1959 while Brother Carl Nelson was pastor. The Mission was organized into a church in 1965.

A mission at Combs, Arkansas was started in 1960 while Brother J. Doyle Farrell was pastor. The Mission was organized into a church in 1966.

In February 1976 the church voted to construct a new church building on the property on Governor’s Hill near the parsonage. Ground breaking services were held on March 7th, 1976. The pastor was Sam Dunham.

In October 1984, during the pastorate of Joseph Dillon, a new education wing was added to the church. There were 168 in Sunday School on the day of dedication.

They also added a new Educational Building and a new Gymnasium in 2003.

We are a Southern Baptist Church and member of the Washington-Madison Association.
